Day 1-2 Travel by Eurostar high speed train London to Paris, change to a comfortable overnight sleeper to Madrid. Enjoy a freshly cooked dinner on board, while the steward makes up the beds.
Morning arrival in Madrid, with a connecting service to Seville.
Day 2-4 Stay in Seville, said by legend, to be founded by Hercules, crammed with magnificent churches, convents, monuments and Moorish palaces. Although compact enough to discover on foot, you could take a horse drawn carriage route along traffic free streets. Later try one of the many Tapas bars and experience the buzzing nightlife.
Stay 3 nights at 3 star hotel Cervantes or 4 star hotel Tryp Macarena. The new station in Seville is a short taxi ride from the old city centre.
Day 5-6 Take the short high speed train ride to Cordoba (only 42 minutes). Stay for two nights in Cordoba at the 3 star Tryp Los Gallos or 4 star Conquistador; visit the “Mesquita” or Great Mosque, with more than 850 coloured jasper and marble pillars, the occasional shafts of sunlight |

Day 7-8 Travel the four hours by train to Granada via Linares across the differing countryside of Andalusia for a two night stay at 3 star Dauro II or 4 star Tryp Albayzin. One of the highlights of your trip must be a visit to a jewel of architecture that is the Alhambra. The Palace was built in the 14th Century and includes palaces, gardens and fountains all gathered under the Sierra Nevada and overlooking the fertile plains of Granada. So many words have been written but none can adequately describe the magnificence of this grand site.
Day 9 Join your TALGO train to Madrid for the 6 hour journey to connect with night train to Paris.
Day 10 Arrival Paris and through to London. |
